Welcome

Welcome to New Milton Hockey Club (NMHC) and the 2009 / 2010 Hampshire hockey season!

Following another highly successful season we are delighted to announce pleasing results and more exciting developments from within the Club.

In the forthcoming year our Ladies 1’s team will be playing in Hampshire Division 1 after narrowly missing out on promotion to higher leagues. The ladies look forward to challenging their opposition and pushing them to the limits again this year. Our Ladies 2’s will be residing in Hampshire Division 4 in 2009 / 2010 and our Ladies 3’s enjoy match opponents in Hampshire Division 6.

NMHC Men’s 1’s resume their challenge in Hampshire Division

2 this season and aim to win the league and gain promotion up

this coming year. Our Men’s 2’s, having gained a convincing and

confident promotion last season shall be playing in Hampshire

Division 7 and already have their eye on the prize, looking for a

comfortable win on the table again for the fourth season in

five. With the swelling of ranks throughout the club, this has

meant a tremendous upsurge in membership and support at all

levels and as a direct result of our increasing numbers, NMHC

are delighted to announce the creation of a Men’s 3’s team.

They will be joining Hampshire Division 10 with the aspiration of gaining promotion

next season. This team is also a fantastic opportunity for our U16 Boys to gain more experience of adult hockey as they look to make the transition from junior to senior level. We look forward to tracking the teams’ progress!

A major area of our clubs growth and development is our youth section. We have a number of Youth teams which facilitate varying ages and abilities who, like the rest of the club, are professionally coached and catered for. We are able to provide training and match experience across the age ranges from U10 to U16 age groups and continue to promote Youth development within the Club with the aid and sponsorship of Lynx Sports.

Inevitably we rely hugely on the support of volunteers to help us maintain the Club in so many different ways. At present we are still seeking an U14 Girls hockey manager to

help co-ordinate the girls’ team with their opposition and this would suit a parent volunteer perfectly. If you are interested in seeking a valuable and enjoyable volunteering opportunity then NMHC would be delighted to hear from you.

With the clubs progress and expansion comes the all too obvious need for funding and sponsorship. We constantly face the need for new equipment, team strips and more pitch bookings for training and matches. We are delighted to have the continued support of our club sponsor David Shore Accountants and Pension Insurance Corporation who have generously supported the Men’s teams. We thank them immensely for their continued and invaluable support and we look forward to celebrating the dawn of a new season with them.

Finally, if you have checked out our website because you are interested in joining our Club please enjoy navigating through our pages. We welcome everybody in to our friendly training and playing environment and can accommodate all levels of playing ability and fitness. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Wishing you all the very best of luck throughout the season.
